Pretty Good

Square by Perrin Briar was a pretty good read. I would not call it a mystery suspense novel, but I still enjoyed it. Not sure why it was titled Square either. I thought that the writer did a great job of telling us Tony's story after coming home from prison although a bit predictable I was still intrigued enough to continue reading. I think he did a great job of painting a picture of the poor white community that Tony and his Travelers dwell in. I was disappointed in finding out at the end that this was just a sampler. As I do realize that this is a trend that is becoming more and more popular amongst authors I don't think I'll ever get used to it and for that reason I had to take off a star.
