When the Thrill is Gone, the 3rd in the Leonid McGill series by Walter Mosley was pretty good, I've grown to love the characters Walter Mosley does an excellent job of painting a picture of a sort of underworld guardian angel for the city of New York. Known to Evil
Known to Evil is the second story in the Leonid McGill detective series and the second title of work that I've read by Walter Mosley. I must admit I was not extremely impressed by the first in the series as I stated in a previous review, perhaps my expectations were too high. Yet I read the second anyway and I must say that Leonid has grown on me. The Long Fall
This was my first time reading a Walter Mosley title. The Long Fall was alright, Leonid McGill is a likable enough character. I believed him as a detective in New York City, I just felt that there were too many minor characters. I liked the fact that Walter Mosley showed different aspects of Leonid's life and how he balanced his nuances of other people's problems and solves them all including the cases he's actually paid to take care of for better worse. I Expected More
Trouble is What I Do is another addition to the Leonid McGill series I was excited to read another chapter of this bad guy turned good P.I. of another era in NYC. One of my favorite aspects of Mr. Mosley's writing style is his penchant for world-building & character building as well he always paints vivid pictures of his characters that flesh out the story. Wicked Ways
Although not one of my favorite reads by EDJ & I say this as a fan it is still a 5* read. The title Before we Were Wicked is a prelude to the title Bad Men and Wicked Women. I read the latter titled book so I was anxious to read this book and see where Ken Swift got his start in the enforcer business. The prelude had the same cast as the previous: Ken Swift, Jake Ellis, and Jimi Lee. I have to admit the first half of the book threw me off it was very heavy on love scenes. I g

Pretty Good Read
The Forgotten: A Jon Dough Thriller written by Kevin Macklin was my first read by this author, I was glad to have discovered him because I feel like we need more black males writing in this genre. I dove into the book unjudging just waiting to see how the story would unfold and I was not disappointed. Kevin hooked me in from the very first paragraph.
